Kristen Moyer’s Plan

As the Register of Deeds is subject to North Carolina General Statutes governing the care and maintenance of records and their accessibility to the public, being an attorney is a decided advantage. For over twenty five years, Kristen has worked as a lawyer, dealing with a variety of legal documents and doing legal research. She’s managed the records database of a major corporation, storing and indexing their documents, as well as analyzing relevant statutes to determine required retention periods. This role provided her with real-life experience in the custodianship of important records, correspondence, and legal documents.

Kristen’s goal is to provide a positive customer experience by addressing citizens’ needs with competence, effective communication, professionalism, and respect. She wants to do the following for Gaston County:

  • Preserve and protect access to the important records of the citizens of Gaston County in the most efficient manner possible
  • Provide an enjoyable, courteous, and professional experience to all
  • Implement necessary statutory changes and system modifications in a timely and professional manner

Her Promise

“I will adhere to the highest ethical standards to honestly and fairly maintain the integrity of Gaston County’s public records. I vow to conduct the business of the office with the highest degree of transparency and efficiency.”
